Rosi’s Sonnbergstuben
A Life for Guests & Music
The famous Sonnbergstuben on the Bichlalm is as legendary as its singing hostess, Rosi Schipflinger. A popular meeting point for guests from near and far who appreciate down-to-earth specialties, a cozy atmosphere, and genuine Kitzbühel hospitality at 1,200 meters above sea level. The Sonnbergstuben is well known far beyond the borders of Tyrol — not just because of its stunning panorama and creative cuisine, but above all because of the renowned and beloved singing hostess, Rosi Schipflinger. Lavish events, such as the Almrausch party or the schnitzel dinner during the Hahnenkamm weekend, are fixed dates for high society and media representatives. Celebrities, business and political figures, as well as everyday people, are drawn to the Sonnbergstuben every day.

And for spontaneous visitors, the legendary hut has been easily accessible since last year via the mid-station of the Bichlalm lift.

It all began with music – singing and playing instruments, which she learned from her grandfather. With her first apprentice salary, she bought her own guitar and taught herself to play. Her musical breakthrough came in 1991 — specifically on July 21, 1991. On this day, the world premiere of the song “Kitzbühel, mein Augenstern” (produced by Jack White) took place in the tennis stadium in Kitzbühel. From then on, Rosi became increasingly well-known — the “singing hostess” of Kitzbühel has been appearing on German and Austrian television for over 20 years. She even yodeled on camera for a South African producer in Stellenbosch.
